Charente is superb for fishing with a
massive choice of rivers and lakes to
choose from.
Fishing permits are easily obtained from
most 'Tabacs' or sports stores and start
from a 15 day holiday permit for around
10€.

In addition to this we offer a choice of two fishing
venues.
1) The gite is sited within 200 metres (5 minute
walk) of the 'Son-sonnete' a category 1 river.
2) We own a large section of land near 'Mansle'
just a 10 minute drive which has around 150-200m
of private river frontage of the 'La Bonnieure'.( cat
2 )

Situated in the heart of the town of
Angoulême ( 30 minutes drive ), with
stunning views over the ancient city
formerly ruled by the Valois, the 18 hole,
par 70 course is undulating and
technically demanding. Created in 1955,
the club is one the oldest in the region
and welcomes visitors all year round.

| Obviously there is a choice of many being that Charente is the home of Cognac & Pineau. Many offer day visits, tasting and direct sales at very reasonable rates. |
Canoing:
Canoing is a very popular past time with lots of rivers
and renting venues the nearest being in 'Mansle' just a 10
minute drive.
Canoes can be hired easily and at a reasonable cost,
with 1 - 4 seats and is an excellent way to take in the
beautiful surroundings and wildlife.

We have a pony club in our village (Saint-Front) 'Polem's
club', provides lessons for all ages, friendly and again -
reasonable rates.
