A beautiful place to relax and unwind.

We have thoroughly enjoyed staying here, a home from home but with much better weather!! The countryside, villages & towns around here are also beautiful, all in all a great experience.

We haven't seen much of the cats, mostly due to the dogs being here and it has been fun watching the dogs watching the goats, horses and donkeys who in turn have been watching the dogs!

Oh yes – thank you Martin for taking us to the vets ( with the dogs! ) to meet the eccentric Docteur Jack!

We have had a great time here. Martin and Kirsty were great with nothing being too much trouble. The Gite was stocked with everything we could ever need, no mean feat when we have a one year old!!!

Freddie will miss all the animals but especially Thelma and Louise.

A wonderful Gite in a gorgeous / relaxing location - we thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay. Martin and his family are fantastic hosts - very friendly and extremely helpful. Fabulous, fantastic, friendly, fun holiday had by the entire family. The children will miss feeding the animals.

We have had a wonderful relaxing two weeks here in Charente. The gite is beautifully furnished and much thought has gone into it. Great attention to detail such as UK & French sockets, a well equipped kitchen etc. The boys have loved the pool and animals, in particular the regular visits from George and Matilda!!- Afraid we couldn't bring ourselves to squirt them!!

This is a fantastic location - peaceful surroundings but with plenty to do and visit nearby.

Beautiful gite in a wonderful setting, so quite and peaceful unlike Aaron (6) and Charlie (2) – sorry!! The gite is very comfortable and very well equipped and the family are the perfect hosts. Nothing is ever too much trouble. We've had a great week so much so we've already booked for next year. Would recommend visits to 'la vallee des signes' (monkey world) & 'Les geants du ciel' (birds of prey in a medieval town).

A truly idyllic place - a perfect place for all the family. Was so relaxing to know that everything was so safe for our 21 month old daughter, but was lots to interest her & she never tired of visiting the animals, going to the swings followed by a swim in the beautiful pool!The pizzas and food was an added bonus. Thank you for providing such a relaxing and beautifully finished Gite in such a tranquil setting.

We have had a fantastic 2 weeks in your beautiful Gite which has been tastefully renovated. Beautiful surroundings & superb weather, the pool certainly helped to keep us cool, when it was so hot outside. We cannot thank you enough for your friendly hospitality & making us feel so welcome. Wonderful holiday! Fantastic accommodation in what is truly beautiful countryside. From the pool to the bikes, from the animals to the river walks to the home-made pizzas! Comfy beds, love the 'White Company' linen, home from home comfort. We have trained George the ginger peril to be a good & well behaved 'chat' with the help of the water squirter - next guests, keep up the good work! Will certainly recommend to friends and family.

Stunning, tranquil surroundings lead onto the gite, which is beautifully renovated, stylishly furnished and with a very welcoming family of hosts. Very child and parent friendly. Much thought has gone into preparing the accommodation to cater for all requirements. Charente has much to offer, from walks through fields of sunflowers, to paddling in rivers and eating out at the many restaurants. We strongly recommend a visit.

Warm and friendly hospitality, with every convenience provided for; excellent converted barn accommodation that strikes just the right balance between modern and homely; and most importantly, beautiful peaceful surroundings- the views of huge skies and open countryside from the pool are something else!
