Poitou-Charentes is one of the most sunniest regions in France second only to the
Côte d'Azur, making Charente an excellent choice for those looking for some
sunshine with summer temperatures often reaching late 30°c to early 40°c and at
only approximately 6 hours from Calais, it's very reachable by car.

Flying:

As you will see above we have three airports serving the area with a further two ' Bordeaux'
and 'La Rochelle' within two hours. The main operator for these flights is Ryanair.
Easyjet, British Airways and Flybe for flights into Bordeaux or La Rochelle.

Eurotunnel & Eurostar:

It is possible to not only drive and use the Eurotunnel but to also arrive as a foot-passager
via the Eurostar, changing at Paris and taking the 'TGV' to Angouleme (30 minutes drive
from us) then you could arrange a hire car from the 'Gare' at Angouleme.

Ferries:

There are many ferry crossings to choose from. Most of them bring you into northern
France near to Calais, making for an approximate journey down of six hours.
You can also take a ferry into 'St Malo' , this is approximately four hours away from us.
